Beginning Monday, March 10, 2025, all Laurel County Schools will extend the end of their school day by 15 minutes. Anticipated Legislative approval of HB241 will allow the district to apply those minutes to make up instructional days lost due to school closure because of inclement weather. This adjustment will help compensate for lost instructional time, effectively allowing us to make up two (2) days. The start of each school day will remain the same, as will morning bus pick-up times. School dismissal will be 15 minutes later than normal time. Afternoon bus routes will also run approximately 15 minutes later than normal. Please contact your child's school for an exact end time.
Additional calendar changes may be made in the future. Spring Break is March 31-April 4. The last student attendance day for Laurel County Public Schools has not yet been determined, and graduation ceremony dates for North Laurel High School and South Laurel High School have not been set.
We understand these changes may require adjustments to your family's routine, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding. As always, we are committed to providing a quality education for our students and appreciate your continued support. Please contact your child's school if you have any questions or concerns.
