Students at the Laurel County Schools Center for Innovation (CFI) recently participated in the 13th Region SkillsUSA competitions in Harlan, Kentucky.
The students participated in several competitive events in Industrial Maintenance Technology (IMT) and Media Arts Technology (MAT). Mr. Shane Smith, MAT Program Coordinator, spoke about the opportunity for students to participate in competitive events and the leadership development provided by their participation in SkillsUSA. Mr. Gary Karr, IMT Program Coordinator, remarked about the level of work ethic as well as the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to compete and achieve excellence.
“We are proud of the technical skills that our students demonstrate and that they always perform at high levels in competitive events,” said Dr. James M. Davis, CFI Principal.
