Recently, CFI students in the HOSA club had an exciting opportunity to visit the Capitol in Frankfort. Students participated in the Kentucky AHEC (Area Health Education Center) Advocacy Day, which members of the Southern Kentucky AHEC chaperoned. AHEC is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and guiding students of all ages regarding the diverse pathways available in medical professions and colleges across Kentucky.
During Advocacy Day, HOSA students engaged with various professors, medical professionals, and fellow students who shared their compelling stories and experiences with AHEC. They also had the chance to connect with local legislators, including State Senator Brandon Storm and State Representatives Derick Lewis and Josh Bray.
