London, KY—Laurel County Public Schools announces that Ethan Eversole has been hired as the new Athletic Director for North Laurel Athletics. Mr. Eversole replaces Haley Ratliff as Athletic Director as Ms. Ratliff moves to her new role as Assistant Principal at NLMS.
A 2012 North Laurel High School graduate, Mr. Eversole earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education with a minor in Coaching from Eastern Kentucky University. He also obtained a Master's degree in Special Education and Rank 1 in Principalship from the University of the Cumberlands.
While in college, Mr. Eversole worked as a maintenance specialist at Battlefield Golf Course in Richmond. He began his teaching career as a special education teacher at North Laurel High School before becoming the PE teacher at North Laurel Middle School. Beginning his coaching career in 2017, he gained valuable experience as an Assistant Baseball Coach, under Kentucky Baseball Hall of Fame coach Darren McWhorter from 2017 to 2024. Additionally, he coached for five years under Eddie Mahan for the North Laurel Girls Basketball program from 2017-2021 and 2024. He also coached two years as a middle school Boys Basketball Coach in 2021 and 2022.
Mr. Eversole says his goal for NLHS is simple, "Success, not for me or anything personal, but for this school to succeed in all aspects. I will use my role as Athletic Director to make sure I do anything I can to ensure success. I have watched North Laurel athletics take tremendous strides in the last few years, much of that due to Haley Ratliff's outstanding job in this position. I will strive daily to do what's best for our school and athletic programs so our awesome students and student-athletes can succeed!"
Mr. Eversole is married with a son. He and his family enjoy the outdoors and passionately follow the Boston Redsox and Kentucky football, while always cheering for the blue and green of North Laurel athletics!
